PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Beyond Behavior Consulting is seeking a highly qualified individual to provide 1:1 ABA services with students who have high behavioral and physical needs. Candidates must be motivated to work with children, engage in calm interactions, and have the ability to perform all aspects of safe crisis management when necessary.

This is a 10-month position August- June with hours that align with school district calendar in Dallas, PA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)

Provide 1:1 ABA services to clients in the school setting

Provide Applied Behavior Analysis therapy as directed by senior staff

Follow and Implement behavior plan

Record data and graph as required

Attends IEP and school meetings as requested

Understand and implement procedures in student’s PBSP and IEP

Utilize Safe Crisis Management techniques and procedures

Completes incident reports prior to the end of the shift

Completes debriefing interviews appropriately

Participate in team meetings related to safety/crisis plan

Conduct therapy in a variety of therapeutic settings

Keep open communication with treatment team to ensure progress and transfer of skills

Complete session documentation and paperwork

Attends weekly supervision

Attends staff meetings

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, counseling, education or related field or 60 credits toward a degree in a related field WITH 3 plus years paid experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or intellectual disabilities.

Coursework in ABA and education preferred

Licenses/Certifications/Clearances

Registered Behavior Technician Certification Required

PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, FBI Fingerprint background clearances are required

CPR/First Aid Certification

Mandated Reporter Certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES typically required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Problem-Solving/Decision-Making Skills

Effective written and oral communication in the English language

Strong ability to multi-task

Ability to collaborate with all team members and within school district guidelines and policies

Ability to maintain professional boundaries

Actively engage children in play and learning activities

Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality

Computer Skills: Required to successfully complete essential functions of the job.

Must be able to use internet and email, Microsoft Teams for virtual conferencing

Must be able to use electronic timecard and data collection systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS typically required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Physical ability to perform all aspects of safe crisis management, including client restraints

Must be able to lift, transport and chase after clients up to 100 pounds

Must be able to describe and articulate events in thorough, objective detail both orally and written

Has the mental and emotional capacity to work in a highly stressful environment

Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time

Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time

WORKING CONDITIONS under which the essential functions of this position are typically performed.

School locations with multiple classrooms, specials, activities, levels in the building and stairs

Work somewhat close to others, such as in a classroom with children and adults

Moderate noise and activity levels

Ability to physically play, kneel, sit, bend, crawl

Some office and meeting times with virtual or in person conferences
