JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Hazleton is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse to provide primary health care and education to students. Reporting to the Director of Student Services & Engagement, this role combines direct patient care with health promotion and compliance oversight.
Responsibilities include:
Triage and basic nursing care under RN protocols
Patient education, health promotion, and phone advice
Referrals to campus physician, urgent care, or specialists
Support for women’s health, family planning, and immunization compliance
Collaboration with University Health Services and campus physician
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum) with 2 years’ related experience (or equivalent)
Current PA RN license required
Preferred: experience in college health, ER, public health, or school health; knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, FERPA compliance
This position requires a nurse who can work independently while collaborating with health partners, representing Health Services on campus, and supporting student wellness.
This position is temporary through December 31, 2025.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
